On March 31, 2020, the Workers’ Injury Law and Advocacy Group (WILG) held a SeminarWeb to help inform workers’ compensation attorneys about important policy changes occurring due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Specifically, the SeminarWeb focused on providing information to help attorneys assist clients who are having trouble getting non-emergency care due to a work-related injury, and what to do about cases with in-person hearings that have been postponed.
During the 75-minute webinar, Colorado work injury attorney Mack Babcock, along with Amie Peters (WA) and Alan Pierce (MA), discussed some of the most pressing questions surrounding COVID-19 as it relates to workers’ compensation, as well as ways attorneys can keep their current cases active while social distancing.
Mack and the other presenters also discussed how attorneys can answer the various questions clients may have relating to their case, their job and what the Department of Labor is doing in instances where a worker may not be covered by workers’ compensation laws in their state.
Due to social distancing guidelines, the discussion was exclusively done via video conference. Attorneys who are interested in listening to the webinar but could not attend can order a copy of the CD here. A TrialSmith membership is required.
