OfficeMax is recalling 216,000 of their Task Chairs because backs and base posts can break, causing people to fall out of the chair and suffer a personal injury. Colorado attorney R. Mack Babcock urges anyone with this chair to return it to the store as soon as possible.
This new recall was announced September 1st by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission for Task Chairs sold between September 2003 and July 2008 for between $40 and $65.
Anyone purchasing the chair at an OfficeMax store or online can return the product for a full refund or $55 store credit if you do not have your original receipt.
OfficeMax has received approximately 35 reports of backs and base posts breaking, with 15 of those causing a personal injury such as concussions, lacerations, contusions and muscle strains.
The recall affects Task Chairs with the model numbers OM182 and OM96614. They are a charcoal or dark charcoal color with black plastic arms and a rolling plastic and metal base. You can find the model number on a UPC label under the seat.
If you’ve suffered an injury due to one of these defective chairs, contact your Colorado personal injury attorneys at the Babcock Law Firm today for a free consultation.
And if you still have this chair, Denver personal injury lawyer R. Mack Babcock along with the U.S. CPSC and OfficeMax urge you stop using it immediately and return it to the store as soon as possible.
